Description For Senior Staff Engineer, Fleet Economy Services, Google Cloud

Google Cloud is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to join their Fleet Economy Services team within the OneFleet organization. This role is crucial in developing systems that support the publishing of resource costs, projections, and efficiency metrics for Google's compute, storage, and network infrastructure. The position offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies that impact billions of users worldwide.

Responsibilities For Senior Staff Engineer, Fleet Economy Services, Google Cloud

  • Lead design and implement new systems from the ground up
  • Build next generation infrastructure to deliver reliable and trustworthy data on resource economic costs and consumption/efficiency metrics
  • Partner with teams within Cloud Product Area to surface infrastructure costs and metrics insights
  • Solve complex problems by diagnosing data flows through multiple systems and analyzing anomalies

Requirements For Senior Staff Engineer, Fleet Economy Services, Google Cloud

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms
  • 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products
  • 3 years of experience with software design and architecture
  • Experience designing and implementing distributed software systems
  • Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or technical related field (preferred)
  • 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role (preferred)
  • 3 years of experience working in complex, matrixed organizations (preferred)
  • Experience designing cloud systems or enterprise billing systems (preferred)
