Senior Staff Visual Designer, Google Labs

Google Labs is seeking a Senior Staff Visual Designer to lead their Characters team in creating innovative AI-powered interactive experiences. This role sits at the intersection of visual design and artificial intelligence, focusing on making expert knowledge more accessible and engaging through AI-powered characters.

The position requires a seasoned professional with 10 years of experience in product design or UX, who will be responsible for defining the visual design of novel, zero-to-one interactive experiences. The role combines creative leadership with technical expertise, particularly in AI-powered products and interactive character design.

As part of Google's User Experience (UX) team, you'll work alongside UX Designers, Researchers, Writers, Content Strategists, Program Managers, and Engineers. The team follows Google's core premise: "Focus on the user and all else will follow." You'll be instrumental in crafting industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution, while leveraging and evolving Google's design language.

The role offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $214,000 to $305,000, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits. You'll be working in either San Francisco or New York, contributing to Google Labs' mission of incubating early-stage efforts and discovering new ways to advance core products through exploration and application of new technologies.
