Description For Senior Technical Program Manager, Chip Design

Google is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to join their Consumer Hardware Silicon team, focusing on developing high-performance and low-power hardware solutions. This role combines technical expertise with program management, requiring leadership of complex, multi-disciplinary projects from inception to completion. The position involves working with Google's chip design initiatives, particularly in System on a Chip (SoC) silicon bring-up, debugging, and validation.

The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between technical teams and stakeholders, managing cross-functional projects while ensuring clear communication across the organization. They'll work closely with architects and logic designers in pre-silicon platform planning and lead post-arrival power-on and silicon validation efforts. Responsibilities For Senior Technical Program Manager, Chip Design

  • Work with various engineering teams to develop and manage custom silicon projects
  • Help engineering teams communicate project status to internal stakeholders across Google
  • Work closely with partners on product development schedules, dependencies and budgets
  • Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies and provide conflict resolution
  • Drive program reviews, build schedules cross-functionally, keep program milestones on track
  • Coordinate between partners and product engineering teams, setting and managing schedules and milestones
  • Travel and attend Google Video Conferences (GVC) as required to coordinate with teams in Mountain View (MTV) and Asia Pacific (APAC)

Requirements For Senior Technical Program Manager, Chip Design

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • 10 years of experience in a silicon organization
  • 5 years of experience in leading teams or cross-functional projects
  • Experience with chip design
  • Experience with product development, program management, project management, professional services or engineering management (preferred)
  • Experience working in the Consumer Electronics industry involving executing technical programs with external partnerships (preferred)
  • Experience and knowledge of chips and embedded systems used in mobile devices (preferred)
