Description For Silicon Engineering Lead

Google Cloud is seeking a Silicon Engineering Lead to join their Technical Infrastructure team. This role is crucial in developing custom silicon solutions that power Google's direct-to-consumer products. The position involves working with cutting-edge hardware development, from circuit design to large system implementation, and ensuring successful high-volume manufacturing.

The role sits within Google's Technical Infrastructure team, which is responsible for building and maintaining the foundation of Google's computing infrastructure. This team designs and implements the hardware, software, and networking technologies that enable all of Google's services to operate efficiently and reliably.

As a Silicon Engineering Lead, you'll be managing relationships with HVM suppliers, overseeing manufacturing processes for SoC and ASIC products, and leading a team responsible for engineering support during production. Your work will directly impact the quality and delivery of Google's hardware products, requiring expertise in silicon product engineering and test engineering.

Responsibilities For Silicon Engineering Lead

  • Develop and drive engineering relationships with all High Voltage Module (HVM) suppliers to manufacture SoC and ASIC products
  • Manage the team for first-line support for all Engineering issue during HVM
  • Meet or exceed agreed yield, cost, quality Defective Parts Per Million (DPPM) and stability requirements in the HVM supply chain
  • Partner with Silicon Operations team to support delivery of finished goods meeting agreed schedules and volumes

Requirements For Silicon Engineering Lead

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of experience with industry-standard tools, languages and methodologies relevant to the production Silicon SoC's or ASIC's
  • 3 years of experience in people management, developing employees
  • Master's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (preferred)
  • 12 years of experience in silicon product engineering or test engineering (preferred)
  • Ability to develop and drive relationships with wafer foundry or Offshore Assembly and Test (OSAT) companies
  • Ability in delivering HVM production flows for high-performance computing chips in advanced technology nodes with low DPPM
