Description For Silicon Quality and Reliability Engineer, Google Cloud

Google Cloud is seeking a Silicon Quality and Reliability Engineer to join their Technical Infrastructure team. This role focuses on developing and maintaining quality standards for high-performance computing silicon products. You'll be part of a team that pushes boundaries in custom silicon solutions, powering Google's direct-to-consumer products. The position involves working with state-of-the-art SoCs that power data centers, driving quality and reliability processes in High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) from an Integrated Circuit perspective. You'll collaborate with global hardware quality and reliability teams, silicon design, validation, and engineering teams to ensure product excellence. Responsibilities For Silicon Quality and Reliability Engineer, Google Cloud

  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and hardware/component quality teams to ensure HPC SOC silicon products meet quality and reliability requirements
  • Drive all quality and reliability related activities prior and during mass production
  • Lead Material Review Board (MRB) efforts to disposition manufacturing issues
  • Drive cross-functional investigation of IC quality and reliability issues
  • Manage and drive periodic Ongoing Reliability Monitoring (ORM) activities
  • Support fleet dppm data collection, classification, and modeling

Requirements For Silicon Quality and Reliability Engineer, Google Cloud

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience with industry-standard tools, languages, and methodologies relevant to the development of silicon-based ICs and chips
  • 5 years of experience with silicon quality or reliability
  • Experience with CMOS technology and device physics
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields (preferred)
  • 12 years of experience in silicon quality or reliability (preferred)
  • Experience in semiconductor reliability, manufacturing processes, or IC and packaging failure mechanisms (preferred)
  • Strong background in CMOS technology and failure analysis techniques (preferred)
  • Familiarity with test methods and hardware for silicon qualification (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Design-for-Reliability guidelines and implementation techniques (preferred)
