Google Silicon is seeking a Silicon Test Engineer to join their custom silicon group in Consumer Hardware. The role focuses on implementing testing strategies and infrastructure for embedded systems within the Silicon Software team, which builds firmware, drivers, runtime, and compilers. The position offers unique opportunities to work with cutting-edge technology, collaborating across various teams including Research, Machine Learning, Android, Chrome, and Hardware.

The ideal candidate will bring embedded systems expertise to implement comprehensive testing strategies, promote software engineering best practices, and develop robust testing infrastructure. Responsibilities For Silicon Test Engineer, Productization

  • Create and implement test strategies by working with development teams to identify risk areas and fill the testing gaps
  • Design and implement Integration tests including multi-IP scenarios in the Android environment
  • Automate tests using existing test frameworks and work with the Engineering Productivity team to enhance and develop new test frameworks based on test requirements
  • Triage and analyze test results and incoming feedback to identify areas for improvement

Requirements For Silicon Test Engineer, Productization

Java
Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience in one or more general purpose programming languages
  • Experience testing software for hardware
  • Experience working with prototype devices (preferred)
  • Experience in Linux kernel driver development, Android application development, especially in interactive camera applications (preferred)
  • Experience in Java, C/C++, Java Native Interface (JNI) and testing embedded systems (preferred)
