Google is seeking a Software Developer III for their Google Workspace team. This role is crucial in developing next-generation technologies that impact billions of users worldwide. As a software developer at Google, you'll work on projects that extend beyond web search, handling information at massive scale.

The ideal candidate should be versatile, display leadership qualities, and be enthusiastic about tackling new problems across the full-stack. You'll be involved in managing project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables, as well as designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing software solutions.

Google Workspace team focuses on developing products that help users connect, communicate, and collaborate. From open-source solutions to user-experience design, the team creates products that shape the web experience for millions of users across homes, businesses, universities, and nonprofits globally.

Key responsibilities include writing code, participating in design reviews, reviewing code from other developers, contributing to documentation, and troubleshooting system issues. The role requires a strong background in software development, data structures, and algorithms.

Preferred qualifications include an advanced degree in Computer Science or related fields, experience with performance optimization, large-scale systems data analysis, visualization tools, debugging, and developing accessible technologies.

Responsibilities For Software Developer III, Google Workspace

  • Write product or system development code
  • Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality

  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting
