Google Pay is seeking a talented Software Engineer to join their Markets team in Tokyo, Japan. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of digital payments in Japan and across APAC. The position focuses on making Google Pay the most user-friendly and accessible payment platform in the region.

As a Software Engineer on the Google Pay Markets team, you'll work on innovative products including eWallets, Cards, and Loyalty Programs, collaborating with top payment providers. You'll be responsible for designing, developing, and launching cutting-edge Google Pay features across various Google products, working on both frontend and backend systems.

The role involves end-to-end project ownership, from prototype to launch, contributing to Google Pay's mission of becoming the preferred digital payment platform across the region. You'll be working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where you'll address unique challenges and make a real impact on users' lives by increasing financial inclusion.

The Payments team at Google is dedicated to making payments simple, seamless, and secure, whether it's paying online with Autofill, using tap and pay in stores, or using the Google Pay app. Beyond consumer payment technologies, the team also powers money movement between Google and its consumers and businesses.

Requirements For Software Engineer, Google Pay Markets

Java
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g. Java)
  • Experience in Computer Science, with data structures, algorithms, and software design
  • Experience in designing and implementing full stack systems through its lifecycle
  • Experience with payments
