Description For Software Engineer II, Frontend, Trust

Google is seeking a Frontend Software Engineer II to join their Core team, which builds the technical foundation behind Google's flagship products. This role focuses on developing consent and transparency experiences across Google products. You'll work with cross-functional teams to create user-centric solutions while ensuring compliance with legal requirements. The position offers opportunities to impact technical decisions across the company and work on critical projects that affect billions of users.

As part of the Core team, you'll be responsible for developing primitives and frameworks that make it easier for teams to implement consent experiences. You'll collaborate with UX teams to create research-backed solutions and work closely with various product teams including Search, YouTube, and Ads. The role requires strong frontend development skills and the ability to work effectively in a global environment.

The ideal candidate should have experience with frontend development, data structures, and algorithms. You'll need excellent communication skills to work across time zones and with various teams. Responsibilities For Software Engineer II, Frontend, Trust

  • Work closely with the Primitives Engineering teams across Web, Android, and iOS, and cross-functional partners on creating core solutions for consent and transparency experiences
  • Partner with UX team on developing a Primitives Design Library and Framework
  • Design and implement solutions which expand Primitives' capabilities
  • Collaborate with partners across Core, Search, YouTube, Play, Geo, Ads, and more on product-specific launches
  • Participate in tech excellence efforts, including optimizing performance and reducing technical debt

Requirements For Software Engineer II, Frontend, Trust

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript)
  • 1 year of experience with data structures or algorithms
  • 1 year of experience with front-end and user interface development
