Description For Software Engineer II, Google Compute Engine

Google Cloud is seeking a Software Engineer II for the Google Compute Engine team. This role involves developing next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information. The ideal candidate will work on critical projects for Google Cloud, with opportunities to switch teams as the business evolves. Key responsibilities include building control panels for user-facing networking features, defining APIs, interacting with internal data models, and modernizing existing systems with a microservices-oriented architecture. The role requires versatility, leadership qualities, and enthusiasm for tackling new problems across the full stack.

Responsibilities For Software Engineer II, Google Compute Engine

  • Build control panel for user facing networking features and products in various areas, e.g. Network Infrastructure Consultants (NIC), hybrid cloud and security
  • Define Application programming interface (API) for end users
  • Interact with internal data-model and orchestrate programming for all of the networking control panel infrastructure
  • Modernize the existing ecosystem by building our systems in a more microservices oriented architecture
