Description For Software Engineer III, Capacity Intelligence

Google's Capacity Intelligence team is seeking a Software Engineer III to develop a platform for improving the obtainability of scarce resources in Google Cloud, including GPUs for Machine Learning. The team works with modern microservices architecture using C++ and follows a mature Scrum Process. Their mission is to improve the obtainability of Google Cloud services and decrease time to ship new features to customers.

As a Software Engineer III, you will be responsible for writing product or system development code in C++, driving cloud resource optimization, shaping cloud resource allocation strategies, designing and executing tests, and influencing cloud customer demand patterns through strategic development.

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, 2 years of experience with software development in C++ (or 1 year with an advanced degree), and 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms. Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields, excellent problem-solving and communication skills, and attention to detail.
