Google Cloud is seeking a Software Engineer III to join their BigQuery Infrastructure team, offering a competitive salary range of $136,000-$200,000 plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits. This role is based in the Seattle area and requires 2 years of experience in software development and distributed systems.

As part of Google Cloud's engineering team, you'll be working on next-generation technologies that impact billions of users worldwide. The position focuses on developing and maintaining BigQuery's infrastructure, requiring expertise in software development, distributed systems, and SQL databases. You'll be joining a team that serves customers in more than 200 countries and territories, helping them solve their most critical business problems.

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with strong programming skills in languages like Java or C++.   • Write product or system development code
  • Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality

Java
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, C++), and with data structures/algorithms
  • 2 years of experience building and developing infrastructure or distributed systems
  • Experience with SQL and extracting and analyzing data from databases
