Google is seeking a Software Engineer III for their Infrastructure team, focusing on Google Cloud Unified Fulfillment Optimization. This role is part of the Technical Infrastructure team, which is responsible for developing and maintaining Google's data centers and building the next generation of Google platforms. The ideal candidate will have experience in software development, data structures, algorithms, and large-scale infrastructure or distributed systems.

As a Software Engineer III, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing software solutions. You'll work on critical projects for Google's needs, with opportunities to switch teams and projects as the business evolves. The role requires versatility, leadership qualities, and enthusiasm for tackling new problems across the full-stack.

Key responsibilities include writing product or system development code, participating in design reviews, reviewing code from other developers, contributing to documentation, and triaging product or system issues. Responsibilities For Software Engineer III, Infrastructure, Google Cloud Unified Fulfillment Optimization

  • Write product or system development code
  • Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency)
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality

Requirements For Software Engineer III, Infrastructure, Google Cloud Unified Fulfillment Optimization

Python
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience with software development in C++ or Python programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting
  • 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture
