As a Software Engineer III focusing on Android development, you'll be part of the team working on Google's open-source mobile operating system that powers more than 3 billion devices worldwide.

The role combines technical expertise with project management, requiring you to manage priorities, deadlines, and deliverables while designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing software solutions. You'll work on projects critical to Google's needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and the fast-paced business grow and evolve.

Responsibilities For Software Engineer III, Mobile, Android

  • Write product or system development code
  • Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality
  • Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies

Requirements For Software Engineer III, Mobile, Android

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field (preferred)
  • 2 years of experience with Android application development (preferred)
  • 2 years of experience with performance, systems data analysis, visualization tools, or debugging (preferred)
  • Experience developing accessible technologies (preferred)
