Description For Software Engineer III, Shopping Build Site Reliability Engineer

Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) at Google combines software and systems engineering to build and run large-scale, massively distributed, fault-tolerant systems. As an SRE on the Shopping Build team, you'll be responsible for ensuring Google Cloud's services maintain reliability and appropriate uptime while monitoring system capacity and performance. The role involves optimizing existing systems, building infrastructure, and automating processes. You'll tackle unique scaling challenges specific to Google Cloud, applying expertise in coding, algorithms, and large-scale system design.   • Write product or system development code
  • Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure quality
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality
  • Guide design reviews with peers and stakeholders to select among available technologies

  • 2 years of experience with data structures/algorithms and software development in one or more programming languages

  • Ability to debug, optimize code, and to automate routine tasks
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
