Description For Software Engineer, ISP IQ, Pixel Camera

Google is seeking a Software Engineer to join their ISP IQ Pixel Camera team, focusing on developing next-generation camera technologies. This role is part of the Image Signal Processor IQ software team, where you'll work with global talents to create scalable and efficient software and hardware Image Signal Processor solutions for the Pixel Camera.

The position requires expertise in software development, particularly in C++ and Python, with a strong foundation in image processing and computer vision. You'll be responsible for developing camera tuning software infrastructure, maintaining cross-platform servers, and improving data validation processes.

As part of Google's Devices & Services team, you'll contribute to combining the best of Google AI, Software, and Hardware to create innovative user experiences. The team focuses on researching, designing, and developing new technologies that make computing interactions faster, seamless, and more powerful.

The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of software development experience and a bachelor's degree, though advanced degrees in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering are preferred. Strong understanding of imaging hardware, signal processing, and quality metrics is valuable.

Responsibilities For Software Engineer, ISP IQ, Pixel Camera

  • Develop the camera tuning software infrastructure, including image processing simulator and device-identical image verification framework
  • Develop and maintain scalable cross-platform servers and services to serve different image processing purposes in good quantity and quality
  • Develop automatic processes to improve data validation coverage and make the tuning workflow more efficient
  • Work with the Architecture, Software, Image Quality, Tuning teams to develop solutions to achieve quality targets and commercialize real products

Requirements For Software Engineer, ISP IQ, Pixel Camera

Python
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (C++,Python)
  • Master's or PHD's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
  • Experience in image processing, computer vision, and computational photography development (preferred)
  • Experience with imaging tuning related development and technology (preferred)
  • Understanding of image quality metrics (preferred)
  • Understanding of imaging hardware, image signal processing and post-processing imaging algorithms (preferred)
