Software Engineer Manager, Search UI Infrastructure, Design System

As a Software Engineer Manager at Google, you will lead and manage a skilled team of engineers while taking technical ownership of critical infrastructure initiatives for Google Search. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver a flexible, scalable, and high-performance platform for all of Google Search. The team is re-imagining Search Feature development and building the next generation of search rendering infrastructure.

Your responsibilities include: • Leading and mentoring a team of engineers, fostering growth, collaboration, and technical excellence • Partnering with Search feature teams and other infrastructure groups • Managing complex projects from inception through execution • Ensuring deliverables align with organizational goals • Architecting solid, stable, and maintainable software systems

You'll have the opportunity to shape how Search works and how search feature developers bring their ideas to users. This role impacts billions of people globally and involves solving complex engineering challenges while maintaining a universally accessible and useful experience.

Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience • 8+ years of software development experience • 5+ years of experience launching software products and 3+ years in software design and architecture • Experience with Web technologies, React or Vue, Java, Javascript/Typescript, and Python • Strong knowledge of browser rendering lifecycles and performance tuning • Leadership experience in a high-performing engineering environment • Fluent English communication skills
