Description For Software Engineer, Maps User Generated Content

Google is seeking a Software Engineer for their Maps User Generated Content team. This role is critical in enabling Maps users to provide feedback on changes and issues they encounter related to addresses, buildings, entrances, and more. The position involves working across the stack to design, implement, and launch user-facing features for multiple Google Maps clients.

Key responsibilities include driving outcomes as a key contributor, producing high-quality work, identifying and fixing technical problems, and coordinating project components. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, 2 years of experience with data structures/algorithms and full stack development, and proficiency in Java.

The role is part of the Geo team, which focuses on building accurate and comprehensive maps for over a billion monthly users through products like Maps, Earth, and Street View. The team's goal is to empower users to easily share their knowledge, creating a map with optimal coverage, freshness, and quality.

Preferred qualifications include a Master's or PhD in Computer Science, experience with Android development, server development, data pipelines, data analytics, and developing accessible technologies.
