Software Engineer, Messages, Spam and Abuse

Google is seeking a Software Engineer for their Messages, Spam and Abuse team in Kraków, Poland. This role is part of the Android ecosystem, which powers over 3 billion devices worldwide. The successful candidate will work on protecting users from unwanted content in Google Messages, which allows Android users to communicate through SMS/MMS and the new RCS standard.

Key responsibilities include:

• Writing and testing product or system development code
• Participating in or leading design reviews
• Reviewing code developed by other developers
• Contributing to documentation and educational content
• Triaging and resolving product or system issues

The ideal candidate will have:

• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
• 5 years of experience with software development and backend software development
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products
• 1 year of experience with software design and architecture
• 3 years of experience working with embedded operating systems
• Experience with C/C++, C#, Java, Python or Go

Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, leadership experience, and experience developing accessible technologies.
