As part of the Google Photos team, one of Google's most sought-after products, you'll work on both client-side (web and mobile) and server-side (search, storage, serving) development, alongside machine intelligence (learning, computer vision) initiatives. The role demands versatility and leadership qualities, working on critical projects with opportunities for team and project rotation. You'll be responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, and enhancing software solutions while managing project priorities and deliverables. Google Photos is a photo sharing and storage service that focuses on creating user-centered experiences. The position offers the chance to work with cutting-edge technologies across information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking, security, AI, natural language processing, and UI design. Responsibilities For Software Engineer, Mobile, Android, Photos

  • Write product or system development code
  • Review code developed by other engineers and provide feedback to ensure best practices
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality
  • Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies

Requirements For Software Engineer, Mobile, Android, Photos

Java
Kotlin
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field (preferred)
  • 2 years of experience with performance, large scale systems data analysis, visualization tools, or debugging (preferred)
  • 2 years of experience with Android application development (preferred)
  • Experience developing accessible technologies (preferred)
