Description For Software Engineer, Mobile, Google Notifications

Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. Our products need to handle information at massive scale, and extend well beyond web search. We're looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design and mobile; the list goes on and is growing every day.

The Google Notifications team (GaNT) makes it easy for Google products to acquire, engage, retain, and ultimately delight our users by enabling high-quality notifications and helping drive growth across the Google ecosystem. We are responsible for receiving, rendering, analyzing and optimizing notifications sent to mobile devices by Google products.

As a Software Engineer on the Mobile team, you will be responsible for developing client libraries integrated by Google products for push notifications and for in-app notifications. You will contribute to the design and launch of a single library to be used by both the push and in-app protocols. Additionally, you will address optimization and scale challenges, as these libraries are integrated by virtually all Google products (e.g., Maps, Gmail, Google Drive). You will work directly with engineers on these teams to ensure their requirements are understood and met.

This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge mobile technologies and contribute to products that impact billions of users worldwide. Join us in making the world's information universally accessible and useful, not just on desktops but on mobile devices as well.
