Description For Software Engineer, Pixel Camera

Google's Devices & Services team is seeking a Software Engineer for their Pixel Camera team in Seoul. This role focuses on building mobile camera solutions, working with cutting-edge technology in image processing and computer vision. You'll be part of a passionate team that partners across Google to deliver the best camera quality and experiences for Pixel devices.

The position involves developing camera solutions across Android software, silicon camera ISP, image quality design, and imaging algorithm performance. You'll work with global talents to launch scalable and efficient software and hardware Image Signal Processing solutions while ensuring optimal mobile Image Quality for Pixel Camera.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in software development, particularly in embedded systems and image processing. You'll be working at the intersection of hardware and software, implementing and optimizing computer vision and machine learning algorithms for embedded platforms.

The role offers the chance to work with multiple teams across Google, including gChip/TechEng Hardware/Software, Pixel Algorithm/Software/Image Quality, Research, and Android Camera HAL/Software teams. You'll be contributing to actual products that impact millions of users while working with state-of-the-art technology in computational photography and image processing.

Responsibilities For Software Engineer, Pixel Camera

  • Design and development of imaging signal processing (ISP) image quality tuning infrastructure and automatic validation methods
  • Oversee Pixel camera system software performance, power, and memory optimization
  • Contribute to implementation and optimization of computer vision algorithms running on embedded hardware
  • Develop, integrate and optimize Machine Learning (ML) and computer vision algorithm running on embedded hardware
  • Collaborate with multiple teams to discuss requirements, interfaces, algorithm integration, and develop solutions

Requirements For Software Engineer, Pixel Camera

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 1 year of experience with software development in C or C++
  • Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering preferred
  • Experience in silicon image signal processing (ISP) programming in embedded environment preferred
  • Experience in image processing, computer vision, and computational photography development preferred
  • Experience in GPU/DSP/TPU programming and optimization preferred
