Description For Software Engineer, Pixel Camera 3A

Google is seeking a Camera 3A Software AF (Auto Focus) Engineer to join their Devices & Services team, focusing on developing next-generation technologies for their Pixel camera systems. This role combines expertise in camera software development with Google's cutting-edge AI and hardware capabilities.

The position involves developing and implementing auto focus algorithms, specifically working with PDAF (Phase Diff Auto Focus) technology. You'll be responsible for creating essential infrastructure tools like simulators, debuggers, and evaluators, while also integrating these solutions into the Android platform. The role requires collaboration with various teams and vendors to incorporate new technologies into Google products.

Responsibilities For Software Engineer, Pixel Camera 3A

  • Develop PDAF (Phase Diff Auto Focus) algorithms and relevant infrastructure tools, such as simulator/debugger/evaluator/etc
  • Engage with different sensor and module vendors and incorporate the new technology into Google products
  • Implement, improve, and integrate the algorithms onto device platforms
  • Design methodology for automated tuning/testing/simulation to reduce manual efforts

Requirements For Software Engineer, Pixel Camera 3A

Python

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience in camera auto focus or Android mobile
  • Experience with coding in C++ or Python
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Image Processing, or a related technical field (preferred)
  • Experience in camera software domains such as camera driver, hardware abstraction layer and algorithm (preferred)
  • Experiences in machine learning and TensorFlow (preferred)
  • Experiences with mobile chipset vendors (preferred)
