Description For Software Engineering Manager, Chrome Autofill

Google is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead the Chrome Autofill team, focusing on enhancing how users interact with the web through Chrome's autofill capabilities. This role combines technical leadership with people management, requiring expertise in C++ development and system design. The position is based in Warsaw, Poland, working with a global team across Warsaw, Munich, and Montreal.

The role involves managing and developing Chrome's Autofill features across multiple platforms including iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, Linux, and Chrome OS. You'll be responsible for leading a team of software engineers, contributing to technical solutions, and driving innovation in form detection, parsing algorithms, and server-side classification.

As a manager, you'll need 8 years of software development experience, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to work in a complex, matrixed organization. Responsibilities For Software Engineering Manager, Chrome Autofill

  • Manage a team of several software engineers in developing parts of Chrome Autofill
  • Partner with engineering teams in Warsaw, Munich and Montreal
  • Design solutions for ambiguous problems to improve client and server backends
  • Design and implement new Autofill features for Chrome on various operating systems
  • Contribute to User Interference (UI) and mobile app enhancements

Requirements For Software Engineering Manager, Chrome Autofill

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role
  • 2 years of experience in people management
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related field (preferred)
  • 3 years of experience in a matrixed organization (preferred)
  • Experience with programming in C++ (preferred)
