Google is seeking a Software Engineering Manager for their Shopping team in Warsaw, Poland. This role involves leading the Metrics Data Engineering team, which is responsible for scaling the shopping metrics platform. The manager will oversee data ingestion, metric development, and collaboration with cross-functional partners to establish a canonical data warehouse providing key insights for the organization.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Leading the data engineering discipline for shopping in commerce
  2. Building and leading the team for shopping
  3. Scaling the shopping metrics platform in terms of data, metrics, and users
  4. Defining roadmaps and scoping work units
  5. Growing and coaching team members
  6. Influencing the definition of business-critical metrics
  7. Centralizing various data warehouses from commerce and finance

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of experience with software development in languages like Python, C, C++, Java, or JavaScript
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role
  • 2 years of experience in people management or team leadership
  • Experience with database, scripting, or business intelligence tools
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams
