Software Engineering Manager, Workforce Identity, Google Cloud Platform

Google Cloud's platform and infrastructure engineering team is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead their Workforce Identity initiatives within the Cloud Security organization. This role is crucial in empowering enterprise customers with secure access to Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Anthos, and Google Data Centers (GDC) resources through federated sign-in.

The position requires a strong technical leader who can drive authentication infrastructure development, enabling customers to integrate their existing identity systems with GCP, GDC, and GKE/Anthos environments. The team focuses on Bring-Your-Own-Identity (BYOID) efforts to create consistent user authentication experiences across platforms.

As a Software Engineering Manager, you'll lead a talented team of engineers, driving complex technical projects and developing ambitious roadmaps in collaboration with Program Managers, Engineering leads, and Technical Program Managers. Your responsibilities include overseeing technical development aspects, from requirements definition to implementation and testing.

The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of software development experience, strong leadership capabilities demonstrated through 3 years in technical leadership and 2 years in people management roles. Experience with security systems and identity/access management is highly valued. The role offers competitive compensation ($189,000-$284,000 base salary) plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
