Google's Raxium display group is at the forefront of revolutionary semiconductor materials display technology, specifically focused on advancing augmented reality (AR) and light-field display applications. As a Staff Equipment Engineer, you'll join a diverse team developing custom silicon solutions for Google's direct-to-consumer products. The role involves supporting microLED development and managing a broad range of semiconductor support equipment and clean-room infrastructure.

You'll be working in a state-of-the-art compound semiconductor fab in Silicon Valley, where you'll be responsible for maintaining and optimizing critical manufacturing equipment, designing and implementing equipment modifications, and managing advanced troubleshooting of complex electro-mechanical systems. The position requires extensive experience in semiconductor manufacturing processes and the ability to work effectively with process and equipment engineering teams.

Responsibilities For Staff Equipment Engineer, Semiconductor, Raxium

  • Maintain and optimize critical semiconductor manufacturing equipment across diverse process areas (vacuum, lithography, metrology, wet processing, etc.)
  • Design and implement equipment modifications and improvements, including upgrades to control systems, robotic handling, and other automation
  • Manage advanced troubleshooting of complex electro-mechanical systems, including robotics, PLCs, motion control, pneumatics, and vacuum systems
  • Work with process and equipment engineering teams provide project support for tool and upgrade installations, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance

Requirements For Staff Equipment Engineer, Semiconductor, Raxium

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 7 years of experience as an Equipment Engineer in the semiconductor industry
  • Experience with semiconductor manufacturing processes, including front-end and back-end operations
  • Experience with reading and interpreting electrical schematics, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and other technical documentation
