Staff Hardware Systems Design Engineer

Google Cloud is seeking a Staff Hardware Systems Design Engineer to work on Machine Learning/AI hardware systems projects for data center deployments. This role is part of the Technical Infrastructure team, which is responsible for building and maintaining Google's data centers and platforms that power their product portfolio. The position requires physical interaction with hardware equipment in a simulated data center environment.

As a Staff Hardware Engineer, you'll collaborate with Product teams to meet system goals and work alongside ASIC/FPGA, Software, and Verification teams to ensure proper feature verification. You'll also interface with manufacturing teams for production readiness and field teams for deployed systems support.

The role demands strong technical leadership with at least 6 years of hardware systems design experience. You'll be responsible for the entire system development lifecycle, from gathering requirements and defining architecture to product validation and deployment. Cross-functional collaboration is key, as you'll work with various teams including Hardware, Software, Mechanical, Thermal, and external vendors.

Google offers competitive compensation including a base salary range of $168,000-$252,000, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits.
