Description For Staff Software Developer, Front End, Applied AI

Google Cloud is seeking a Staff Software Developer specializing in Front End and Applied AI. This role involves developing next-generation technologies that impact billions of users. The ideal candidate will bring fresh ideas in areas such as information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking, data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design, and mobile development.

As a Staff Software Developer, you will:

  • Provide technical leadership on high-impact projects
  • Influence and coach a distributed team of developers
  • Facilitate alignment across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines
  • Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large-scale software solutions

The role requires versatility, leadership qualities, and enthusiasm to tackle new problems across the full-stack. You'll work on critical projects for Google Cloud, with opportunities to switch teams and projects as the business evolves.

Google Cloud offers a hybrid workplace with both remote and in-office options. The base salary range for this position in British Columbia is CAD 192,000-235,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
