Staff Software Engineer, Google Cloud Data Management

Google Cloud is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their Data Management team. In this role, you will provide technical leadership on high-impact projects, influence and coach a distributed team of engineers, and design, develop, and maintain large-scale software solutions. You'll work on critical projects for Google Cloud, which accelerates organizations' digital transformation by leveraging cutting-edge technology. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in software development, data structures/algorithms, and technical leadership in complex, matrixed organizations.

Key Responsibilities: • Lead high-impact projects and provide technical direction • Coach and influence a distributed engineering team • Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables • Design, develop, test, deploy, and enhance large-scale software solutions • Facilitate alignment across teams on goals and outcomes

Requirements: • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience • 8+ years of software development experience • 5+ years of experience testing and launching software products • 3+ years of experience with software design and architecture • Strong leadership and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications: • Master's or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field • 3+ years in a technical leadership role • Experience working on cross-functional projects in complex organizations
