Google Cloud is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their Infrastructure team, playing a crucial role in developing next-generation technologies that impact billions of users worldwide. This position offers an opportunity to work on critical projects at massive scale, extending well beyond web search into areas such as distributed computing, large-scale system design, and artificial intelligence.

As a Staff Software Engineer, you'll provide technical leadership on high-impact projects, influencing and coaching a distributed team of engineers. The role requires expertise in building and developing large-scale infrastructure, with a focus on distributed systems and network architecture. You'll be responsible for managing project priorities, facilitating alignment across teams, and designing sophisticated software solutions.

Requirements For Staff Software Engineer, Infrastructure, Google Cloud

Kubernetes
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms
  • 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products
  • 3 years of experience with software design and architecture
  • 5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks
  • Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field (preferred)
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role (preferred)
  • 3 years of experience working in complex, matrixed organizations (preferred)
