Description For Staff Software Engineer, YouTube Commerce Tooling, Applied Data

Google's software engineers develop next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. The YouTube Commerce team accelerates YouTube's paid ecosystem growth by supporting scalable, compliant, and performant commercial journeys for all users. The team develops the YouTube Commerce Platform, empowering teams to build and launch paid products that create new business growth opportunities for YouTube, Creators, and partners.

As a Staff Software Engineer for YouTube Commerce Tooling, you will be responsible for establishing a new team in India, ramping up the growing team technically, and serving as the key technical point of contact to the global team. You will work on projects critical to Google's needs, with opportunities to switch teams and projects as the business grows and evolves.

The role requires versatility, leadership qualities, and enthusiasm to take on new problems across the full-stack. You will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables, as well as design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.

Key qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of experience in software development and data structures/algorithms
  • 5 years of experience testing and launching software products
  • 3 years of experience with software design and architecture

Preferred qualifications include experience with e-commerce tools or data and excellent technical leadership skills.
