Google Public Sector is seeking a Staff Systems Development Engineer to join their Sovereign Cloud Operations team as a Cross Domain Solution (CDS) Engineer. This role combines technical leadership with hands-on engineering work in a highly secure environment.

The position requires extensive experience in systems automation and infrastructure management, with a focus on designing and implementing secure cross-domain communication systems. The ideal candidate will have 8 years of experience in technical infrastructure and systems automation, along with 5 years of leadership experience. A key requirement is an active U.S. Government Top Secret Security Clearance with TS/SCI.

As a CDS Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining systems that enable secure data exchange between networks with different security classifications. The role involves close collaboration with technical experts, security teams, and stakeholders to ensure solutions meet stringent security and operational requirements.

  • Provide ongoing support for Cross Domain Solution (CDS) systems, including troubleshooting, performance optimization, and patch management
  • Automate system deployments and routine tasks to enhance operational efficiency
  • Design, implement, and maintain CDS architectures ensuring compliance with security standards
  • Work with security assessment teams for required security certifications
  • Engage with stakeholders to identify requirements and deliver tailored solutions
  • Document designs, configurations, and processes

Requirements For Staff Systems Development Engineer

Kubernetes
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or IT-related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of experience with systems automation, design and implementation
  • 8 years of experience with technical infrastructure
  • 5 years of experience with managing technical work, driving engineering strategy and roadmap
  • 5 years of experience managing or leading a team
  • Active U.S. Government Top Secret Security Clearance with TS/SCI
  • Experience with cloud technologies, especially Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Knowledge of OSI model and network protocols
