Description For Staff UX Designer

Google's Labs group is seeking a Staff UX Designer to join their innovative team focused on incubating early-stage efforts. As part of Google User Experience (UX), you'll work in multi-disciplinary teams alongside UX Designers, Researchers, Writers, Content Strategists, Program Managers, and Engineers. The role involves creating intuitive and easy-to-use experiences for billions of users worldwide, following Google's core premise of "Focus on the user and all else will follow."

You'll be responsible for crafting industry-leading user experiences from concept to execution, leveraging user-centered design methods. The position requires collaboration with design partners to evolve the Google design language and build beautiful, innovative products that users love. Responsibilities For Staff UX Designer

  • Influence cross-functional stakeholders to gain support for design strategies, collaborating from early-stage concept development to iteration and execution
  • Drive the creation of innovative design solutions that address user needs, business objectives, and industry trends
  • Build and iterate on Figma prototypes to communicate ideas, user journeys, and decision points
  • Apply user-centered design principles, integrating UX research insights and AI-first interactions
  • Provide direction to UX designers, manage priorities, dependencies, and stakeholders effectively

Requirements For Staff UX Designer

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of experience in product design or UX
  • Experience with industry standard design tools (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, InVisio, Figma, Principle, etc.)
  • Portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to work in resume
