Google's Trust & Safety team is seeking a Strategic Risk Manager to join their Strategic Command unit. This role is crucial in protecting users and partners from abuse across Google's diverse product portfolio including Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. The position requires a strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving abilities and a commitment to user safety.

The role involves leading cross-functional response to high-sensitivity escalations, managing crisis situations, and developing comprehensive mitigation strategies. You'll be working at the intersection of risk management, crisis response, and user safety, coordinating with various teams to ensure swift and effective incident resolution.

As a Strategic Risk Manager, you'll be responsible for identifying potential risks, conducting impact assessments, and developing both short and long-term strategies for crisis management. The role requires strong analytical skills to review past incidents, identify patterns, and implement improvements to existing processes.

The position offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $156,000 to $234,000, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits. You'll have the opportunity to work from either Austin, TX or Seattle, WA, collaborating with global teams across different time zones.

The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in risk management or crisis management, with a bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. Additional preferences include a master's degree or PhD, experience working with engineering and product teams, and familiarity with Google products and infrastructure.
