Description For Strategy and Operations Manager, Data Center Operations

Google Cloud is seeking a Strategy and Operations Manager for their Data Center Operations team. This role combines technical leadership with strategic program management, focusing on mechanical and electrical operations. The position involves working with facility managers, plant engineers, and global teams to develop scalable solutions for both existing and new green field locations.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you'll lead complex engineering projects across the globe. The role requires both big-picture thinking and the ability to dive deep into daily engineering challenges. You'll manage project lifecycles, identify risks, and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, from executives to engineers.

The ideal candidate will serve as an advisor and provide strategic direction for the Site Mechanical and Electrical Operations team. This role is crucial in supporting Google Cloud's mission to accelerate digital transformation across industries, leveraging cutting-edge technology to serve customers in over 200 countries.

Responsibilities For Strategy and Operations Manager, Data Center Operations

  • Implement communication standards across a portfolio of programs including executive and key partner communications
  • Establish a reliable and visible cadence for program reviews, decision-making, prioritization, and resource stewardship
  • Lead a governance structure that drives effective executive decision-making
  • Identify change management opportunities that increase program velocity
  • Define/manage a program portfolio solving problems that lead the high business impact for the organization and product area

Requirements For Strategy and Operations Manager, Data Center Operations

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of experience in program management
  • 5 years of experience in leadership role with/without direct reports
  • 8 years of experience managing cross-functional/team projects
  • Experience working in a data center, hospital, power plant, or similar mission critical environment
