Description For Supplier Quality Engineer, PCB, Google Cloud

Google Cloud is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer specializing in PCB (Printed Circuit Board) technology to join their Hardware Testing Engineering team. This role is crucial in maintaining Google's vast computing infrastructure, which is built on custom-designed machines. As a PCB Supplier Quality Engineer, you'll be responsible for setting and managing supplier quality and reliability standards for PCB Infrastructure across Google.

The position requires a strong background in PCB technology and manufacturing processes, with a minimum of 8 years of experience. You'll work closely with design engineers and suppliers to ensure the highest quality standards are met throughout the product lifecycle. The role involves conducting quality audits, managing supplier relationships, and implementing quality control processes.

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related PCB field. Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree and American Society for Quality certification. The role requires technical expertise in PCB manufacturing and test processes, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally.

Responsibilities For Supplier Quality Engineer, PCB, Google Cloud

  • Be responsible for the quality and reliability of PCB deliverables throughout the lifecycle
  • Drive cross-functional activities in the supply chain for overall technical operational readiness in all NPI phases leading into mass production
  • Conduct quality and manufacturing process audits at suppliers, including on-site management for critical suppliers
  • Work cross-functionally to define and ensure processes are in place to provide the data required to manage quality and reliability
  • Interface with suppliers to share parts per million feedback and drive RMA, CAR, RCCA, and FA
  • Establish quality programs and process controls for early detection of issues

Requirements For Supplier Quality Engineer, PCB, Google Cloud

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, a related PCB field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of experience in the PCB technology and manufacturing process
  • Experience in statistical product quality control, process capability, reliability, failure analysis, and process improvement
  • Understanding of PCB manufacturing and test processes
  • Ability to travel as needed
