System Performance Engineer

Google is seeking a System Performance Engineer to join their Devices & Services team. This role is part of a diverse team that develops custom silicon solutions for Google's direct-to-consumer products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in system software, silicon architecture, and performance optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Understand and work with Silicon Hardware and Software architecture
• Optimize software workloads for available compute engines
• Define and validate performance metrics and power goals
• Collaborate with Machine Learning System Architects and Software teams
• Ensure key performance indicators are met through verification and validation

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of experience with System Software, Silicon architecture, GPU, and memory subsystems
• Expertise in power and performance optimization
• Proficiency in Python, C, or C++

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in a related field
• Experience in system hardware/software design for power, performance, and thermal optimization
• Knowledge of mobile SoC architecture and system software architecture
• Familiarity with AI/ML or Large Language Models on edge devices
