Description For System Power and Performance Architect, Silicon

Google is seeking a System Power and Performance Architect to join their innovative hardware team. This role is crucial in developing custom silicon solutions that power Google's direct-to-consumer products, specifically focusing on the Google Tensor mobile SoCs.

The position combines hardware architecture expertise with software optimization, requiring deep understanding of power-performance trade-offs and system-level optimization. You'll be working at the intersection of AI, mobile computing, and hardware design, contributing to products used by millions worldwide.

As a System Power and Performance Architect, you'll be responsible for architecting low-power solutions, creating workload models, defining and tracking KPIs, and performing both pre-silicon analysis and post-silicon characterization. The role requires a unique blend of technical skills, including experience with SoC architectures, software power optimizations, and programming languages like Python or C++.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in SoC architectures and performance/power KPIs, with a strong educational background in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science. Knowledge of Camera and Generative AI workloads, along with experience in post-silicon power productization work, would be particularly valuable.

This position offers the opportunity to work with diverse, cross-functional teams and directly impact the next generation of Google's hardware experiences. You'll be at the forefront of innovation, helping to create more efficient and powerful computing solutions while considering real-world constraints like battery life and thermal limitations.

Working at Google means being part of a company that values diversity, equality, and inclusion. The team combines the best of Google's AI, Software, and Hardware capabilities to create radically helpful experiences, making computing faster, seamless, and more powerful. If you're passionate about pushing the boundaries of hardware development and want to contribute to products that make people's lives better through technology, this role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact.
