Systems Development Engineer, Customer Deployments

Google is seeking a Systems Development Engineer for Customer Deployments to join their team in Berlin, Germany. This role is part of the Systems Development Engineering (SDE) team, where you'll manage services and systems at scale, focusing on Google Distributed Cloud Hosted (GDCH) solutions.

As a Systems Development Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of deploying GDCH solutions at customer sites and internal reference deployments. The role combines deep technical expertise with customer-facing responsibilities, requiring both strong engineering skills and excellent communication abilities. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience, along with 5 years of experience in production distributed environments. You'll need strong knowledge of infrastructure components, including Linux, Kubernetes, networking, and storage systems. The role involves international travel (up to 25%) and participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both technical challenges and customer interaction.

Key responsibilities include complex troubleshooting of infrastructure issues, conducting deployments and training sessions, and delivering train-the-trainer programs.
