Description For Systems Development Engineer III, Enterprise Fleet Integration and Management

Google's Enterprise Fleet Integration and Management (EFIM) team is seeking a Systems Development Engineer III to join their dynamic team. This role sits within Google's Core team, which is responsible for building the technical foundation behind Google's flagship products. As an SDE III, you'll be managing and improving systems that control and monitor services across Google properties worldwide, including physical access control systems, video surveillance, and guest management systems.

The position requires a strong background in systems automation and infrastructure management, with a focus on developing tools and solutions that address systemic problems rather than just fixing individual issues. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies and be responsible for implementing automation solutions that improve efficiency and scalability across Google's infrastructure.

  • Provide technical expertise to support projects, with the goals of improving efficiency, scalability, and reducing manual effort
  • Leverage coding, scripting, and systems engineering skills to automate system administration tasks and eliminate repetitive work
  • Collaborate with teams to implement and strengthen network and security controls
  • Enhance and automate server ownership metadata to streamline service management
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement and propose innovative solutions to simplify service management processes

Requirements For Systems Development Engineer III, Enterprise Fleet Integration and Management

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or IT-related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 3 years of experience with technical infrastructure (deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting)
  • Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible and Puppet
