Google Public Sector is seeking a Systems Development Engineer (SDE) to manage services and systems at scale for air-gapped cloud environments. The role focuses on observability, automation, and developing tools to fix classes of problems. You'll work closely with operations teams, product teams, and Program Managers to balance quick responses, future development, and meeting business needs.
As an SDE, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing large and complex systems, troubleshooting technical issues, and contributing to the maintenance of systems. You'll also participate in on-call service rotation and occasionally write documentation or develop new components.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in systems automation, design, and implementation, with experience in coding languages like Go, Python, Java, or Bash. Knowledge of Kubernetes, Linux, and monitoring solutions is preferred. An active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph is required.
