Description For Systems Development Engineer, Operations Center IT, Public Sector

As a Windows Systems Development Engineer at Google Public Sector, you will be part of a team providing direct support to United States Government customers. Your role involves administering critical Windows-based Workstations and Servers in the Google Operations Center, maintaining network access, and troubleshooting technical problems. You'll be responsible for ensuring a secure, stable, and reliable Operations Center while advocating for customers' and operators' needs. The position requires an on-call rotation and involves developing cloud infrastructure and service-based solutions.

Key responsibilities include managing Windows environments, Active Directory resources, and Hyper-V deployments. You'll also be involved in scaling systems through automation, troubleshooting issues, and working with customers on distributed systems requirements.

This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an IT-related field (or equivalent experience), 3 years of systems administration experience, and an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph. The ideal candidate will have experience with systems automation, design, and implementation, as well as knowledge of Active Directory and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager.

  • Participate in on-call activities and manage the systems within the domain
  • Troubleshoot technical issues, evaluate technical data, and develop recommendations for systems and services
  • Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation
  • Manage Windows Environment including Active Directory resources and accounts, Endpoint Configuration and Windows patching/updates
  • Ensure the health of Hyper-V and Virtual Machine deployments
  • Work with customers on defining distributed systems requirements, testing procedures, and proposing solutions

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or IT-related field, or equivalent practical experience
