Description For Technical Program Manager, Chip Design

Google is seeking a Technical Program Manager for their Chip Design team to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects. This role combines the best of Google AI, Software, and Hardware to create radically helpful experiences. As a TPM, you'll use your technical expertise to lead projects from start to finish, working with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage schedules, and communicate with cross-functional partners. You'll work with engineers of many specialties, product managers, and partners worldwide to define, design, build, test, and ship products. The role involves helping identify program and technical risks, developing mitigation plans, and making sound product-level judgments. Google's team researches, designs, and develops new technologies and hardware to make computing faster, seamless, and more powerful, aiming to make people's lives better through technology. The position requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams across different locations. Responsibilities For Technical Program Manager, Chip Design

  • Work jointly with engineering teams to develop and manage custom silicon projects
  • Help engineering teams communicate project status to internal stakeholders across Google
  • Work with partners on product development schedules, dependencies and budgets
  • Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies and facilitate conflict resolution
  • Interface between partners and product engineering teams, setting and managing schedules and milestones

Requirements For Technical Program Manager, Chip Design

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of experience in program management
  • 5 years of experience with chips and embedded systems used in Mobile devices
  • 8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects
  • Experience with product development, program management, project management, professional services or engineering management
  • Experience working in the Consumer Electronics industry involving executing technical programs with external partnerships
