This role combines technical expertise with program management to drive custom silicon projects from inception to completion. You'll be responsible for coordinating with teams across different time zones, particularly in Mountain View and Asia Pacific regions, requiring both travel and virtual collaboration.

Responsibilities For Technical Program Manager, Chip Design

  • Work jointly with engineering teams to develop and manage custom silicon projects
  • Help engineering teams communicate project status to internal stakeholders across Google
  • Work with partners on product development schedules, dependencies and budgets
  • Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies and facilitate conflict resolution
  • Interface between partners and product engineering teams, setting and managing schedules and milestones
  • Travel and Google Video Conferences (GVC) required to coordinate with teams in Mountain View (MTV) and Asia Pacific (APAC)

Requirements For Technical Program Manager, Chip Design

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of experience in program management
  • 5 years of experience with chips and embedded systems used in Mobile devices
  • 8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects
  • Experience with product development, program management, project management, professional services or engineering management
  • Experience working in the Consumer Electronics industry involving executing technical programs with external partnerships
