Description For Technical Program Manager, Core

Google's Core team is at the heart of building the technical foundation behind Google's flagship products. As a Technical Program Manager, you'll be responsible for leading complex, multi-disciplinary projects from inception to completion. The role combines technical expertise with program management skills to drive successful outcomes across Google's technical infrastructure.

The position requires working with diverse stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and maintain clear communication channels with cross-functional partners. You'll need to be equally adept at explaining technical analyses to executives and discussing product development tradeoffs with engineers.

The Core team holds a unique position as owners and advocates for Google's underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure. This team looks across Google's products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers, and strengthen existing systems. Responsibilities For Technical Program Manager, Core

  • Coordinate and deliver program communications in collaboration with program stakeholders
  • Collect data relating to program progress from program stakeholders
  • Maintain project trackers and status reports
  • Author program charter addressing scope, timeline, objectives and key results (OKRs)
  • Author stakeholder map specifying program impact and influences
  • Triage technical bugs and feature requests alongside engineering stakeholders

Requirements For Technical Program Manager, Core

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 1 year of experience in program management
  • Ability to be an influential member of an integrated team composed of both technical and non-technical members
