Description For Technical Program Manager, Data Center Construction

Google's Data Center Delivery and Engineering team is seeking a Technical Program Manager to lead their data center construction projects in Skien, Norway. This role combines technical expertise with program management skills to oversee complex construction projects from inception to completion.

The position requires a seasoned professional with at least 5 years of experience in both program management and industrial/technology construction. You'll be responsible for managing large-scale data center construction projects, ensuring proper development of detailed designs, overseeing construction processes, and maintaining relationships with multiple vendors.

As a Technical Program Manager, you'll work with a diverse team of CSA and MEP design experts, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and various other specialists. You'll be responsible for the safe and successful delivery of Data Center projects within your sub-region, administering construction agreements, and protecting Google's interests through detailed project delivery oversight.

The role offers an opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in Google's data center environments, including experience with advanced systems such as switchgear, generators, chillers, and security monitoring systems. Requirements For Technical Program Manager, Data Center Construction

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience in program management
  • 5 years of experience in industrial or technology construction throughout the project lifecycle
  • Experience in construction project controls, construction scheduling, project controls assurance programs
  • Experience managing large-scale construction projects within an international working environment (preferred)
  • Experience working with data center equipment/environments (preferred)
  • Experience managing vendor relationships (preferred)
