Description For Technical Program Manager, Data Center Deployments

Google is seeking a Technical Program Manager for Data Center Deployments to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects in their Dublin office. This role combines technical expertise with program management, focusing on overseeing major deployment programs in data center environments. The position requires managing network infrastructure capacity delivery programs, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and driving technical solutions for network port capacity, physical cabling installation, and equipment capacity.

As a DCNet Delivery Technical Program Manager, you'll be responsible for bringing technical experts together, developing solutions, and managing master schedules that meet Google's strategic needs. The role demands both project and technical leadership skills, with a focus on organizing teams, establishing clear responsibilities, and maintaining schedule velocity while influencing without direct authority.

The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of program management experience, strong background in network design and infrastructure, and experience managing data center projects. They should possess excellent analytical and presentation skills, with the ability to work effectively in complex organizational settings. Knowledge of co-location environments, data networking architectures, and supply chain concepts is highly valued.

Responsibilities For Technical Program Manager, Data Center Deployments

  • Manage network infrastructure capacity delivery programs
  • Solve technical issues revolving around network port capacity, physical cabling installation, network equipment capacity, project scheduling, and logistics
  • Manage and nurture relationships between cross-functional teams, including external parties and vendors
  • Identify process and communications breakdowns, while developing and driving solutions to remedy the issues
  • Manage process development and optimization initiatives
  • Create and maintain master schedules, budgets, BoMs, and related factors

Requirements For Technical Program Manager, Data Center Deployments

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience in program or project management
  • Experience in network design, equipment and infrastructure
  • Experience in managing projects in a data center environment
  • Experience within complex organizational settings
  • Experience with co-location and large-scale data center operations
  • Strong foundational knowledge in data networking architectures and physical network components
  • Familiarity with supply chain and logistics concepts
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative and presentation skills
