Description For Technical Program Manager, Data Center Design

Google's Network Infrastructure Engineering team seeks a Technical Program Manager for Data Center Design to lead the evaluation, design, and construction of Google's network space in facilities worldwide. This role combines technical expertise with project management, requiring you to work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, and manage complex projects. You'll be part of the Technical Infrastructure team, responsible for developing and maintaining data centers and building next-generation Google platforms. The position involves evaluating, planning, designing, costing, and building new facilities while expanding network infrastructure. You'll work in a diverse and inclusive environment, contributing to Google's mission of building products that create opportunities for everyone. The role requires strong technical knowledge of data center infrastructure, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex projects simultaneously. Responsibilities For Technical Program Manager, Data Center Design

  • Review and understand Google network architecture standards
  • Draft statement of works for Design and Engineering Drawing Sets
  • Review proposals, costs, and submittals related to new build projects
  • Create high-level project plans that identify resource needs and critical path
  • Communicate with partners and internal business owners to collect drivers and deadlines

Requirements For Technical Program Manager, Data Center Design

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, EHS, Architecture, Construction management, or related field
  • 5 years of experience with construction planning of industrial-scale, hi-tech projects
  • 5 years of experience in Technical Program Management
  • 2 years of experience working at colocation facilities or networking infrastructure
  • Experience in building construction management
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking and prioritization skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
