Description For Technical Program Manager, Data Center Network Delivery

Google is seeking a Technical Program Manager for their Data Center Network Delivery team to oversee critical infrastructure deployment programs. This role combines technical expertise with program management, focusing on data center and colocation facility operations. The position requires managing complex deployments, including turn-ups, turndowns, expansions, and new technology pilots.

As a Technical Program Manager, you'll be instrumental in organizing teams, establishing clear roles, and managing regional capacity deliverables. You'll work closely with Planning teams to understand and execute plans of record, ensuring dependent projects align with downstream dependencies. The role demands strong collaboration with partner teams to secure resources, manage logistics, and optimize capacity delivery.

The ideal candidate brings a bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field and at least one year of program management experience. Your expertise in network design, equipment, and infrastructure will be crucial. Knowledge of supply chain concepts, co-location environments, and data center operations is highly valued.

Responsibilities For Technical Program Manager, Data Center Network Delivery

  • Manage network infrastructure capacity delivery programs
  • Understand partner team dynamics and business impacts through early engagement, collaboration on process enhancements, and communication
  • Work with Planning to understand plan of record, ensure dependent projects are kicked off in time to support schedule of downstream dependencies
  • Work with partner teams to ensure project priorities are aligned, resources are secured, and logistics are on point with material storage and delivery
  • Implement corrective actions and recommend preventive measures to address recurring issues and optimize capacity

Requirements For Technical Program Manager, Data Center Network Delivery

  • Bachelor's degree in networks, electronics, industrial, mechanical field or equivalent practical experience
  • 1 year of experience in program or project management
  • Experience in network design, equipment and infrastructure
  • Experience with supply chain and logistics concepts

  • Experience with co-location and data center operations
  • Knowledge in data networking architectures and physical network components
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, and presentation skills
